Trakena Prevost

Panelist Guest / Writer

Trakena Prevost was born and raised in the great state of Texas, where everything IS bigger and the people are super-friendly. She writes down the fantastic stories rumbling around in her head—to quiet the voices. When not reading and writing, Trakena spends her time working in HR, hanging with her family and friends, and desperately trying to force her love of reading on her little one. She writes paranormal stories with multicultural characters, where race is not the main conflict. This arose from being a young teen in love with paranormal fiction, unable to find any stories she liked with characters that looked like her. She hopes to change that reality for all kids of color!

Body Language: How to Draw an Image in Your Fiction

More than half of our communication occurs through body language, much of which is instinctual rather than conscious. Because of this, non-verbal clues can be hard to recognize and therefore reproduce successfully. This panel discusses techniques to increase your awareness of body language and how to incorporate such descriptions into your fiction.
