Preston Larson obtained his undergraduate degree in engineering physics in 1997, his masters degree in engineering physics in 2000, and his Ph.D. in physics in 2005, all at the University of Oklahoma (OU). For the last 13 years, he has worked as a research scientist at the Samuel Roberts Noble Microscopy Laboratory at OU, specializing in the area of electron microscopy. There he interacts with other researchers across campus and assists them with their scanning and transmission electron-microscopy research.
