“Dr. Scott” is the Director of OU’s Microscopy Laboratory, where microscopes go up to a million-and-a-half times magnification (1,500,000×). Other microscopes use electrons, photons, lasers, and even other particles. Especially for SoonerCon, he will bring a scanning electron microscope, and we will be taking lots of images that you can take home. We will also look at light, electricity, and temperatures, and answer a medley of science questions. Can you stump the scientists?!?!?!?

Microscopy - Ugly Bug
OU microscopy research scientists share images of insects from their infamous "ugly bug" collection. Learn more about the Scanning Electron Microscope, and how microscopes work with light, electricity, and temperature to tell us more info about what we're seeing – with images you can take home!
